Bring it 2011….

I was hoping to start this latest training/racing session with a great race photo from the Boxing Day 10 miler – I knew where the camera guy was so I smiled by butt off….

…and got a pic of one arm and 1% of my torso and quad. Such is my life in run photos.

2010 went out with a bang and an awesome dinner with friends at our fav restaurant…and a ride home at 2am…and sleeping in on Jan 1.  But one day of rest/recovery was followed with a great 16km run on Sunday.  It was cold but not freezing and I truly enjoyed the entire run.

I am officially registered for my 2011 Winter/Spring races and am very excited to really focus on training again.  The 2011 plan is:

Peak Performance Chilly 1/2 Marathon

NYC Half Marathon – wooHoo!  All 7 of us who entered got in and I am very excited for this race – I could care less about my time as this is all about the fun with friends and N.Y.C!

Around the Bay 30km

Pittsburgh Marathon

I am not a resolution maker – never have been.  I think if you are going to do something…do it.  Don’t wait until tomorrow or Monday..or Jan 1 to do it..just do it.  (yes Nike..I could be your poster girl)  I am going to focus this training session on getting leaner and the biggest part of this is going to do some serious tracking of food – specifically portions – over the next month to see if/what needs tweaking.

I hate tracking food….I’ll check in on Friday to see if I even made it through 4 days….

I'm right there with you on getting leaner (especially after Christmas - yikes). Let's do it!

I got NO pics from Boxing Day, and I am usually pretty lucky with cameras. And I even wore a costume! Bah.

Great plan...I hear you on the tracking of food...that is so key for me...We might need to have a bloggy meet up for Around the Bay! Pittsburgh Marathon sounds great and NEW YORK!

You are already killing it with 16km runs...great job!

Too bad about the photo :(

I hate tracking food too, it's such a pain and for some reason I find it so hard to make a habit (though I have no problem tracking miles and workouts!)

sounds like 2011 is off to a great start! I like tracking my food, maybe just because I like tracking anything ;)

There's been so many times when I thought "that was the perfect photo" only to see the opposite when the photos are available. You've got some great goals, enjoy getting to them!

i don't like tracking food either, but after doing it for a few weeks, i had a really good idea what needed to change, then i was able to lose weight without further tracking.
