Four for Friday – the 300th post edition

According to Blogger, this is my 300th post.  (confetti time!) I have a giveaway in the works so stay tuned…

1.  My fat/cut lip healed up nicely this week.  The hubs keeps asking if I need help dressing so I don’t knock myself unconscious.  Funny.Guy.

2.  The weather turned late Fall-like for yesterday’s run.  I had gloves on and non-capri tights on.  In sorting through my fall/winter run gear, I realized I have a lot of stuff..so if you hear me talking about buying any new apparel, remind me of this post.  I have more long sleeve base layer shirts than I can count apparently. (though I do actually wear them all)

3.  It appears my Garmin 305 officially died this week.  It has been sick for a bit but on yesterday’s run, it cut out 6 times, told me I had ran 5km, then 1km, then 20km and then stopped.  I am going to try to revive it but fear after a loyal 3yrs and many many kms…it may be put to pasture.

4.  Which means since yesterday I have been researching new gizmos.  What do I really want?

THIS:

It’s a big investment and scares me a bit to change but change is good right?  And I won’t have any change left if I buy this puppy… And this doesn’t count as apparel (see bullet 2), it is an accessories.  Like shoes, you can never have too many accessories.

Happy Weekend!  What do you run with?  Garmin?  Nike?  Naked?  Thoughts or recommendations?

Is that the latest Garmin? I am so used to my big honking 205 screen, I'm terrified of the "smaller" models.

Congrats on 300 posts!!!

I've only heard good things about the 610. I will be insanely jealous if you get it.

I have the 405 and it drives me nuts.

I have the 305(?) and know it can do more than I make it do. However, the enter button on the side ison it's last legs. I'd stick with what I know so I could but more clothes, but that's just me!

I have yet to buy a Garmin or any gadget for that matter... mostly because there isn't that much running going on these days.

It sparked my interest, but once I pick up the running habit again I look into it.

Ahhhhh but it looks so pretty! And you're so right, you can never have too many accessories!

I started with the Nike+ which I used with my Ipod. In May I upgraded to the Nike+ GPS sportswatch and really love it. It still uses the foot sensor which is great for me because I do so much treadmill running plus it kicks in if you are in the forest or around tall buildings and lose the GPS signal...they work together.

Sorry about the loss of your Garmin. We've been through that a few times here at our house. I can't part with them and they are still sitting in our drawer.
300 posts, that is awesome!

I've had my Garmin 101 for a billion years now so I'm hoping it stays healthy for a little while longer. But you really can't go wrong with Garmin.

Congrats on your 300th post!
