1. I was all set for my easy (very early) 10km run this morning..until I woke up to howling winds and snow. I actually did start to head out until I slid down the driveway because of the ice. An icy easy run wasn’t worth it so I grabbed my gear and did the run at the gym on the toasty warm treadmill. Not going to lie…I initially felt wussy but it was the right call. Had I headed out, I probably would have been calling the hubs to come get me as the weather just got worse.
Post run leaving the gym…glad to done:
2. Winter is finally here. I.am.not.happy.
3. My friend is the Half Marathon instructor at our local Running Room. She asked me to do a talk last night to her clinic on goal setting, specifically on why you should assess your goals and make them truly your own. It was a huge group and I got pretty nervous when I saw them all there but I think I did a pretty good job. (I hope…I am all rambly when I get nervous)
4. I do spin twice a week with our run group. I love it but the music was unlove-y so I volunteered to put together playlists. It has been fun but harder than I thought. If you spin…hit me up with some songs…I need some help as they are now starting to all sound the same. (Dance Party Central!)
Do you re-asses your goals? Do you like Winter?

Good call on the treadmill run. I'm betting that you gave a great talk last night and that they all appreciated it. As for winter, I'll pass. I get less and less tolerant of it the older I get!
I just read this playlist and decided to download for when I do my own cycling workout

I like winter but was a little sad to see it arrive yesterday because of the challenge it poses to running.
Yes, I totally revisit and change running goals.
I hate winter but do feel that my winter runs make me tolerate it better!
I can't offer much in the way of good music suggestions, but I can say what NOT to use: Elvira. Yep, recently took a class where the instructor used that song. Are you kidding me?
yes winter is here. not happy also!! i was hoping to be able to get out there today, but no way. The drive to work was very slippery, so i can just imagine how the sidewalks are.
i dont spin, sorry, cant help. but kudos to you.
and yay for speaking to the group. thats awesome
I do like winter but not the biting cold wind we have right now.
Don't feel like a wimp for hitting up the treadmill! I've had to resort to it a few times too, and yes, it does make me feel less bad-ass, but hey, it's better than the sofa!
better to run on the treadmill than slip and put yourself off for the rest of the running season! i don't mind winter but i despise snow...we in victoria don't get it much so we don't know how to deal with it!
Wussing out would have been going back to bed - not going for the treadmill! Good call.
