A Small Miracle of a Run and Caramel Chocolates

It has been crackers in LauraWorld of late.  Last week I had to be in another office for 3 days which added in a lot of commuting time to an already crazy schedule.  Luckily Friday was a holiday where we slept in until 8am.  A miracle in our little corner of the world.

Sunday was a ‘big’ day for me.  The first of our 2 really long runs before the marathon.  I really tried to not psych myself up about the run and I think I succeeded.  I stuck with my friends, took walk breaks when they did and ate very small amounts on every break.  The only area of I would improve on is taking in a bit more water than I did and not being as overdressed as I was.

So…20.9miles /  33.5km done and felt good.  Not great, not bad but good.  Again, another miracle upon us.

Next Sunday is 22.4 miles on the race route.  Fingers crossed there are some more miracles then as well.

We escaped the Easter chocolate frenzy relatively unscathed:

easter

I’m not a huge chocolate fan to be honest.  However give me chocolate filled with caramel (like the ones in between the bunnies) I am a happy camper.

Kind of like a cat sleeping in the sun.

What were your weekend miracles?  Are you a choco fan?

Nice run! One down, another to go and you'll be all set.

I like dark chocolate, so most easter candy is easy to resist for me.

Love the kitty in the sun pic :)

I do enjoy chocolate...but it depends on the chocolate. I'm kind of snobby about it :P My miracle this weekend is surviving the celebrations and 3 days with no husband while also trying to create a creative project! Success! A miracle :)

SOunds like you're running well to me! Yes to chocolate, but chocolate/caramel is the ultimate best.
My miracle is survival of the MIL.

Love chocolate. And these days they are saying you lose weight eating it. Talk about a win win. Trouble is I want lots of it.

You are doing great in your long runs!

Nice, the 20 miler is in the bag! I bet you feel relieved! I'm not a huge chocolate lover either, but there's something about Easter candy!

Congrats on the big run!!! Hope this week as not as crazy as last.

Mmmmm chocolate. I, unfortunately, LOVE the stuff! I managed to abstain over Easter and hoarded some faves for post-race. I have no shame!

Have you tried salted chocolate caramels?? I got some from Whole Foods in the fall (too dangerous to buy again). My heart sang!

Congrats on the big run! I didn't get one 20 miler in this training cycle...(Tried to but had to abort because of weather), so well done! I love chocolate...all kinds and eat way to much of it. Good luck on the 22 miler!

Woohoo, congrats on knocking out another long run. I consider any long run NOT feeling like utter crap a total success these days. So well done :).

I like chocolate but like you, not necessarily plain. Load it with peanut butter though and I have zero willpower.

20 miles seems like a long, long way. I still feel tired after 20 km...

As for chocolate: I love it. Really, really love it.

I hope you have had a great training week and that this weekend's run is an awesome one.
